They moved to Phoenix on July 1, 1996, and played by the name Phoenix Coyotes later, they changed their name to Arizona Coyotes on June 27, 2014. The Coyotes have played in various arenas, starting with America West Arena now Footprint Center in Phoenix from 1996 to 2003.

The following year, they played at Glendale's Gila River Arena now known as Desert Diamond Arena from 2003 to 2022. They have now moved to Mullett Arena Tempe.
