Devon Toews is a Canadian defenseman playing for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted as the 108th overall pick by the New York Islanders in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL draft after playing college hockey at Quinnipiac University. He started his professional career with Bridgeport in the American Hockey League (AHL), earning All-Rookie Team honors and winning the Fastest Skater competition at the AHL All-Star Classic.
Toews was acquired by the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for second-round picks in 2021 and 2022 on October 12, 2020,.
