Erik Cernak is a professional Slovak ice hockey player who plays center in the National Hockey League (NHL) and currently plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was born in Košice, Slovakia on May 28, 1997.
Erik Cernak first started playing for the HC Košice in 2013. He was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry-level contract with them. He was traded by the Knights to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017. Erik made his NHL debut with the team in 2018 against the Buffalo Sabres, and his first NHL goal was scored against the New York Rangers.
