Ivan Demidov is an 18-year-old Russian professional ice hockey player who is currently considered as a top prospect for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He was born on December 10, 2005, in Sergiyev Posad, Russia and plays as a right winger/center for the SKA-1946 of the Russian Junior Hockey League (MHL) as a prospect to SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Moreover, he is projected to be drafted at the number two spot after Macklin Celebrini according to the consolidated rankings for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Interestingly, Demidov developed his skills with the youth team DYUSSH Dmitrov and has also represented Russia on the international stage.

In the 2019-20 season, Demidov had limited play with the U16 team but showed his potential in the 2020-21 season, scoring 28 points in 11 games for the Vityaz Podolsk U16 in the Russia Region U16 league. He continued to impress with 24 points in 10 games for the U17 team and additional performances in the U17 and U18 regional leagues. For the 2021-22 season, Demidov moved to SKA St. Petersburg's system, where he played for the U17 team and had an impressive run, scoring 26 points in 11 games. His performance earned him a spot on the SKA-Varyagi St. Petersburg and SKA-1946 St. Petersburg teams in the MHL, where he continued to develop his skills. He also represented Russia in international junior competitions, scoring seven points in nine games.


The 2022-23 season saw Demidov making his KHL debut with SKA St. Petersburg, though he had more significant contributions in the MHL with SKA-1946 St. Petersburg, scoring 62 points in 41 games. He also briefly played in the VHL and continued his international career. In the 2023-24 season, Demidov split his time between the KHL, VHL, and MHL, maintaining strong performances, particularly in the MHL where he scored 60 points in 30 games.
