Mitch Marner is a right winger the alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of May 2025. He was drafted fourth overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL draft. He made the NHL All-Rookie team in 2016-17 with 61 points. In 2018-19, Marner had a breakout season with 94 points. He set a Maple Leafs record with a 23-game point streak in 2022. He reached 500 career points in 2023. He reached 100 points in a season for the first time on April 15, 2025.

Marner, who was nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy in 2023, played for the London Knights after being picked in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft. He had 59 points in 64 games as a rookie and was the OHL rookie runner-up. Marner led the playoffs with 44 points, won the OHL and Memorial Cup titles, and earned the Wayne Gretzky 99, Stafford Smythe, and Ed Chynoweth trophies in 2016. He became the second player to win all five major awards in one season.
