Pascal Vincent

Born on September 22, 1971, Pascal Vincent is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player currently serving as the head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Vincent made his debut in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) as a center during the 1988–89 season with the St. Jean Castors. Over the next three seasons, he played for St. Jean, Laval Titan, and Verdun Collège Français, concluding his junior career in 1992.

Vincent embarked on his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Saint-Jean Lynx in the QMJHL and later became the head coach of Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudiere (LLL) Regents in the Quebec AAA Midget Hockey League. He joined the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in 1999 as an assistant coach and eventually took on the roles of head coach and general manager.

Vincent received accolades such as the 2007 Maurice Filion Trophy for the QMJHL's top general manager and the 2008 Ron Lapointe Trophy for the QMJHL's top coach. Noteworthy achievements include finishing fourth in their division and winning the first-round playoff series during the 2007–08 QMJHL season.

Vincent's coaching journey continued as he assumed the role of an assistant coach for the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL in 2011. After five years, he was promoted to head coach of the AHL's Manitoba Moose in 2016, earning the Most Outstanding Coach award after the 2017–18 AHL season. Vincent joined the coaching staff of the Columbus Blue Jackets on June 24, 2021. On September 17, 2023, Vincent was appointed head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets following the preseason resignation of Mike Babcock.

Pascal Vincent’s Salary

Determining Pascal Vincent's precise salary, as the current head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets, proves challenging due to the confidential nature of NHL contracts. Salaries for NHL head coaches vary significantly based on factors such as experience, team success, and contract duration.

Esteemed coaches like Barry Trotz and Joel Quenneville may command over $8 million annually, while those newer to coaching might begin around the $2-3 million range. Given Vincent's coaching background, which includes assistant coaching and AHL head coaching, coupled with the recent performance of the Columbus Blue Jackets, it is reasonable to infer that his salary falls towards the higher end of the spectrum, potentially ranging between $1-4 million per year.

Before his current role, Vincent was the head coach of the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League (AHL) from 2016 to 2021 and served as an assistant coach for the Winnipeg Jets from 2011 to 2016.

Notably, he earned recognition as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's (QMJHL) Coach of the Year for the 2007–08 season, General Manager of the Year for the 2006–07 season, and received the AHL's Most Outstanding Coach award in 2017–18. In 2023, Vincent assumed the position of head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets, succeeding Mike Babcock, who resigned before the 2023–24 season.
