Patrik Laine is a Finnish right winger for the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL. He was drafted second overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2016. Laine signed a three-year entry-level contract with Winnipeg and debuted on October 13, 2016, scoring a goal and an assist. He recorded his first NHL hat trick on October 19, 2016, against Toronto. In his rookie season, he scored 36 goals and 64 points, breaking the Jets/Thrashers rookie goal record.

He signed a two-year, $13.5 million extension with the Jets in September 2019. Laine was traded to Columbus on January 23, 2021, where he later signed a four-year, $34.8 million contract in July 2022. On August 19, 2024, Laine was traded to Montreal. He chose jersey number 92. He recorded a hat trick on December 17 and surpassed Mikko Rantanen for the third-most hat tricks by a Finnish NHL player (11). Laine scored his 400th NHL point on January 14, 2025, and played his 500th game on January 23.

Patrik Laine is engaged to Jordan Leigh, a social media influencer and model. The couple has launched "From Us to You,” an online mental health support group. They are all set to tie the knot in June 2025. They announced their wedding via an Instagram post in August 2024, where Jordan flaunted her engagement ring with a caption:
