The Seattle Kraken is a professional ice hockey team, based in Seattle, Washington. They compete in the NHL as a part of the Pacific Divisional of the Western Conference. The Kraken was founded as the 32nd team of the league and started playing during the 2021–22 season. Owned by the Seattle Hockey Partners, they host their home games at Climate Pledge Arena. Founded in 2018, the Kraken reached the second round of playoffs in 2023 by defeating the Colorado Avalanche in the first round. However, they fell short against the Dallas Stars in the second round.
