The St. Louis Blues are a professional ice hockey team based in St. Louis. They play in the NHL's Central Division in the Western Conference. The team was founded in 1967 and named after the song "Saint Louis Blues." They play their home games at the Enterprise Center, their arena since 1994.

The Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019 and have the most playoff appearances outside of the Original Six teams. Their 2019 Stanley Cup victory was their first after 52 years and made them the final team from the 1967 expansion to win the Cup. According to the official website of the NHL, Jim Montgomery is the head coach of the St. Louis Blues as of January 2025. He replaced Drew Bannister, who was fired. Montgomery signed a five-year contract with the Blues, just five days after being dismissed as the Boston Bruins' head coach.

He previously worked as an assistant coach for St. Louis from 2020 to 2022. Montgomery also had a successful stint as the Bruins' head coach, where he won the Jack Adams Award in 2023. He has also coached the Dallas Stars before his time with the Bruins.
