Tyler Johnson is an American professional ice hockey player currently playing for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League (NHL). Johnson started his career with the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he quickly made his impact in the 2007-08 season. He played 69 regular games while scoring 13 goals and recording 29 assists, helping the Spokane Chiefs secure the Ed Chynoweth Cup. Johnson continued his dominance in the 2008 Memorial Cup, where the Chiefs won over the Kitchener Rangers to claim their second Memorial Cup.

The Tampa Bay Lightning took notice of his talents and quickly signed him in March 2011. However, he was assigned to the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL). where he made an impact by winning the Calder Cup. Johnson made his NHL debut during the 2012-13 season. In his first full season with the Lightning in 2013-14, Johnson tallied 50 points. The subsequent seasons saw Johnson post better numbers while maturing as a player. However, in an interesting turn of events, the Lightning traded him to Blackhawks before the 2021-22 season began.

Throughout his NHL career, Tyler Johnson has achieved various milestones and has surpassed many records. His most highlighted moment came with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021, when he won back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships with the team.

Johnson became a key forward for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2020 playoffs, playing a crucial role in the team's success. He scored four goals and recorded three assists across 25 games and helped the Lightning overcome the Columbus Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins, New York Islanders and the Dallas Stars to win the coveted Stanley Cup for the first time in his career.

He also became the first Spokane area native to win the Stanley Cup, as the Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars in Stanley Cup finals. Johnson had a nearly identical campaign the following season. His contributions at crucial stages in the game helped the Tampa Bay Lightning lift the Stanley Cup in consecutive years.
