Vincent Trocheck is an American ice hockey player for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 11, 1993, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played minor hockey for the Pittsburgh Hornets until he was 13, after which he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he began playing with the Detroit Little Caesars. He was a two-time national champion and two-time league-leading scorer during his tenure with them while progressing through multiple levels.

Fast forward to 2011, he was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft and began his professional career with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2013-14. In between this, he displayed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Saginaw Spirit and Plymouth Whalers. His time in the OHL was memorable as he collected major honors like the Red Tilson Trophy, and Eddie Powers Trophy and earned a First All-Star Team selection (all in 2013). This set the base for his successful NHL career which has seen him earn two All-Star Game nominations while claiming the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award with the New York Rangers in 2024.

My grandmother has eight brothers and sisters, and then they all had a bunch of kids, too. My grandma and her sisters are all really close, so we’d have these huge dinners with the whole family. Everybody would come. That was how I grew up. It was just normal for me to have everybody around all of the time.”

Moreover, he has Italian roots through his grandmother who hails from Calabria, a region located in Southwest Italy, as per NHL.com.

He also stated that he wants to pass his family values to his kids and has also invited his teammates to his grandmother's place for dinner and her specialties, including chicken parm, rigatoni, arancini, meatballs, linguine with shrimp and scallops, chicken cutlets and braciola.
