Tiffany Hayes is a 5-foot-10 shooting guard who plays for the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA. She also competes in the Unrivaled 3x3 league, started by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Born on September 20, 1989, in Polk County, Florida, Hayes represented the United States women’s national basketball team at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia. She was the youngest player on the team and the only freshman. The team went undefeated and won the gold medal. In 2015, Hayes became an Azerbaijani citizen and began playing for the Azerbaijan women’s national basketball team.

Hayes competed for Azerbaijan in the 2015 European Games and later joined their 3x3 team. In 2024, she played for Azerbaijan’s 3x3 basketball team at the Summer Olympics in Paris. .

Tiffany Hayes had a successful college career at the University of Connecticut, playing for the Huskies from 2008 to 2012. In her freshman season, Hayes initially played off the bench. However, due to an injury to the team's starting shooting guard, Hayes had to step into the starting lineup in an important regional semifinal game of the 2009 NCAA Championship, and she delivered by scoring 28 points in high-pressure moments. UConn eventually had an undefeated 2008-09 season and won the national championship in 2009.

During her sophomore year, Hayes started 37 of 39 games and averaged 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal per game throughout the 2009-10 campaign. Hayes played a significant role in UConn’s second consecutive national championship. She scored seven points and dished out two assists in the 2010 NCAA title game against Stanford, as per Sports Reference college stats data.

Hayes then started her junior year with 32 points in a season-opening victory. Throughout her junior season, she delivered multiple high-scoring games. According to her UConn college profile, Hayes had an outstanding 29-point performance against UNC in which she surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for her college career.

As a senior, Hayes was a leader on the court for the Huskies as she averaged 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game. Her defensive intensity and scoring ability earned her Third-Team All-American honors. Over the course of a four-year career for the UConn Huskies, Tiffany Hayes scored 1799 points, grabbed 680 rebounds, 480 assists and had 223 steals in 154 games played, as per Sports Reference. Hayes helped UConn maintain its reputation as one of the top programs in women’s basketball. After her senior season, she declared for the WNBA draft, leaving behind a legacy of excellence at UConn.

Tiffany Hayes High School was Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, Florida. She led Winter Haven to a remarkable 117–9 record and state championships in 2004 and 2007. Hayes was the team’s leading scorer, averaging 18.3 points per game in 2009. Her talent extended beyond her high school team as she played for the AAU team Essence, and helped them win the 2007 National Championship.
