Eric Bledsoe: A Brief Biography

Eric Bledsoe is an American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He played college basketball for Kentucky, he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 18th overall pick of the 2010 NBA draft before the Los Angeles Clippers acquired his draft rights and he was subsequently traded.


He played one season at Kentucky in 2009-10 and averaged 11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists He was named in the Sporting News SEC All-Freshman Team and was also a CollegeInsider.com Freshman All-American, he also often filled in as a shooting guard whenever required.


In his first season, playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Bledsoe was named in the NBA All-Rookie second team, In his sophomore season his stats dropped due to the arrival of Chris Paul and so his game time was highly limited, due to this his stats plummeted, he had to be assigned to a rehab assignment with the Clippers' NBA Development League team. In his 3rd season, despite still having to play second fiddle to Chris Paul he showed improvement and his stats rose too.


On July 10, 2013, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns in a three-team deal. He developed a lot as a player during his 4 years for the Suns but his time there was marked by roster instability and postseason absences, following a highly controversial tweet just three games into the 2017-18 NBA season, he was dismissed from playing with the team and later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
