About ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament - Rotterdam Open 2023

The Rotterdam Open, also known as the ABN AMRO Open has been graced by several big names in the tennis world. It is played on indoor hard-courts and is one of the 13 ATP 500 tournaments that will take place in 2023.


It was founded in 1972 and instantly became an eye candy for all Dutch fans. Former Wimbledon Champion Richard Krajicek has been the tournament director of the Rotterdam Open since 2004. Past champions of the Rotterdam Open include Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors and Arthur Ashe.


Last season, Canada's Felix Auger Aliassime beat Stefanos Tsitsipas to win the men’s singles title while the Dutch pair of Robin Haase and Matwé Middelkoop triumphed in the men’s doubles event.


This year’s tournament will have five Top-10 players in the main draw, including last year’s finalists Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz. The likes of Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev will also aim to challenge for the Rotterdam Open,


Other big names competing in the ATP 500 event include Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils.


Venue and Dates


The Rotterdam Open takes place at the Rotterdam Ahoy, which was opened in 1950. The Ahoy Arena is the portion where all the tennis action takes place and it has a seating capacity of 16,426. This year’s edition of the Rotterdam Open will take place from February 13-19.
