Ariya Jutanugarn claimed a second major title, winning the U.S. Women's Open after a four-hole play-off on Sunday.

The 22-year-old from Thailand carried a four-stroke lead into the final round, but needed a play-off to overcome Kim Hyo-joo.

Jutanugarn fired a one-over 73 at the Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club in Alabama to finish at 11 under, with Kim (67) joining her.

Heading into a two-hole aggregate play-off, Kim birdied the 14th as Jutanugarn made par.

However, a bogey at 18 – and par from Jutanugarn – extended the play-off, with both players following up with pars at 14.

But Kim made another bogey at the 18th, and a fourth consecutive par was enough for Jutanugarn to add to her 2016 Women's British Open title.

Carlota Ciganda (69) finished well back in outright third at seven under, four shots ahead of Danielle Kang (69).
