David Pastrňák is a Czech professional ice hockey player who is a right winger and serves as the Boston Bruins' alternate captain in the National Hockey League. David was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut for the Bruins on November 24, 2014, against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He scored his first NHL goal on January 10, 2015, against the Philadelphia Flyers.

David spent the majority of his rookie season with the Bruins' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins. David established himself as a full-time NHL player in the 2016-17 season. He played 75 games for the Bruins that season, recording 34 goals and 36 assists. He also played in 6 playoff games, recording 2 goals and 2 assists. David has continued to improve each season since his rookie year. He has scored at least 30 goals in each of the past six seasons and has been named to the NHL All-Star Game three times. In the 2022-23 season, David scored 40 goals and 48 assists, finishing second on the Bruins in scoring. He also led the NHL in power-play goals (12). He is one of the most dynamic and skilled players in the NHL and is a key member of the Bruins' offense.
