Sidney Patrick Crosby is a professional Canadian ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins first overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and serves as the captain of the Penguins as of 2025. He won the Art Ross Trophy, Hart Memorial Trophy, and Lester B. Pearson Award in just his second season. Crosby led the Penguins to three Stanley Cup championships, including becoming the youngest captain in NHL history to win the Cup in 2009.

Internationally, Crosby has represented Canada with great success, winning gold medals in both the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. He also led Canada to victory in the 2015 World Championship and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, becoming the only player to captain all three winning teams and a member of the Triple Gold Club.

As of 2025, Sidney Crosby has won a total of five major international gold medals. He earned two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada, one in 2010 (Vancouver) and another in 2014 (Sochi). Sidney Crosby Record

Sidney Crosby has achieved numerous records in both the NHL and international competitions. In the IIHF, he is recognized as the youngest player to win a World Championship scoring title. In the NHL, he was the first rookie to record 100 points and 100 penalty minutes in a single season. He also became the youngest player to achieve 100 points in a season at 18 years and 253 days old. Crosby also holds the record for being the youngest player to reach 200 career points and to record two consecutive 100-point seasons.

Additionally, he is the youngest player voted into the starting lineup of an All-Star Game and the youngest winner of both the Art Ross Trophy and the Lester B. Pearson Award. Crosby has led the NHL playoffs in scoring as the youngest player and became the youngest captain to win the Stanley Cup. Notably, he is one of only six players in NHL history to win multiple Conn Smythe Trophies and holds the record for the fewest games played by an NHL team's leading scorer, with 66 points in 41 games during the 2010-11 season.

Sidney Crosby was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2006 and has participated in multiple NHL All-Star Games from 2007 to 2024. Crosby won the Art Ross Trophy as the league's leading scorer in 2007 and 2014 and received the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player in the same years. He has also been recognized with the Ted Lindsay Award three times.

Crosby has led the Pittsburgh Penguins to three Stanley Cup championships and was honored with the Conn Smythe Trophy for his playoff performances in 2016 and 2017.
