One of the best limited-overs all-rounders of the modern era, Shane Watson was the perfect package for white-ball cricket. Watson had powerful batting skills, could work spin and pace with equal ease apart from being a gifted medium-pacer.
Like the majority of all-rounders, he also started his international career in the middle order before finally being moved up as an opener. According to Forbes, Shane Watson was the highest-paid non-Indian cricketer in the business for five back-to-back years between 2011 and 2015. It was reported in 2012 by Forbes itself that he earns around $2.9 million through cricket, pushing Shane Watson’s net worth up a few notches.

IPL Salary
Watson began his career with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) before finding his way into the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) setup. In his initial three seasons with the Royals, the ex-Australian all-rounder earned about INR 1.68 crores according to InsideSport's Moneyball.
Back in 2011, Watson got a huge wage hike, which drove his earnings for that season to nearly INR 6 crore, and that grew to INR 6.9 crore by the end of 2013. In the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Watson was paid a monstrous ₹25 crore in salary by the Rajasthan Royals — his biggest paycheck in the IPL.
The Australian cricketer then moved to the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he made INR 9.5 crore, in each of his two seasons. Watson was later bought by CSK in the IPL 2018 Auction for INR 4 crore. In all, during his 13-year-stint in the IPL, the ex-Australian all-rounder has garnered a staggering INR 77 crore.
Post his retirement, Watson was roped in by the Delhi Capitals for the post of Batting/Assistant coach ahead of the 2023 season. He was signed for an amount of INR 3.5 Crores.
