Born on September 12, 1994 in Odesa, Ukraine, Elina Svitolina turned pro in 2010. She broke into the top-50 in 2013, before making her top-20 debut in June 2015. The 29-year-old is the first Ukrainian woman to enter the top-10 in the WTA; a feat that she achieved in 2017. She is married to fellow tennis player Gael Monfils, and also shares a child with the Frenchman.
