August 2025 will see the 145th US Open, the fourth and last Grand Slam of the year. The competition will take place on outdoor hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City from August 24 to September 7. Jannik Sinner will defend his men's singles title, and Aryna Sabalenka will defend her women's singles title.

Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, and Jimmy Connors have the most US Open victories in men's tennis, with five each. Serena Williams and Chris Evert hold the most US Open titles in the women's division, with six each.

Will Novak Djokovic be playing at the 2025 US Open?

Yes, Novak Djokovic will compete at the 2025 US Open. The first half of the 2025 season was not very convincing for Novak Djokovic. At the Brisbane International, Djokovic lost to Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals to start the 2025 season. He barely played one set before retiring from his semifinal match against Alexander Zverev due to a torn muscle, ending his Australian Open journey.

After that, Djokovic took part in the recently revamped ATP 500 Tournament in Doha, where he was defeated in the opening round by Matteo Berrettini. Since the Summer Olympics in 2016, this was the first time Djokovic had lost in a first round. Djokovic entered the 2025 Geneva Open at the last minute and won his 100th ATP singles title after defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the final. He became the first tennis player to win at least one ATP singles title in 20 straight seasons and the third player in the Open Era to win 100 or more titles (after Federer and Jimmy Connors).

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated Djokovic in straight sets at the French Open. Sinner overcame Djokovic in the Wimbledon semifinals once more. Since 2017, this was the first time he had missed the Wimbledon final.
