Promising young Russian tennis sensation Mirra Andreeva has wreaked havoc on the court with her versatile and power-pack performance. At 17, Andreeva showcased her best Grand Slam performance by reaching the semifinals of the 2024 French Open. She created the biggest upset by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals, becoming the youngest player after Martina Hingis to reach the French Open semifinals. She also reached the quarterfinals of the same tournament in doubles with Vera Zvonareva.

Andreeva won her first-ever WTA singles title at the 2024 Lasi Open when her opponent, Elina Avanesyan, retired hurt during the third set. She reached the final of the 2024 Ningbo Open, losing to compatriot Daria Kasatkina. Andreeva reached two WTA 1000 quarterfinals at the 2024 Cincinnati Open and the 2024 China Open, losing to Iga Swiatek and Zheng Qinwen, respectively. She created a milestone by reaching the career-high ranking of No. 15 on January 6, 2025, thus becoming the youngest player since Nicole Vaidisova.

Andreeva won her maiden WTA doubles title with Shnaider at the 2025 Brisbane International, defeating Priscilla Hon and Anna Kalinskaya. In the same tournament, she advanced to the semifinal in singles, losing to Aryna Sabalenka.

Mirra Andreeva Olympic Medals

Mirra Andreeva won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in doubles with Diana Shnaider, where they were competing as Neutral athletes. They lost to the Italia team of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini by 6-2, 1-6 [10-7]. Andreeva and Shnaider registered a win against top seed Sara Sorribes Tormo and Cristina Bucsa by 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals. They eliminated the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalists Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova in the quarterfinals.

During their post-match interview after winning the Olympic semifinal, Andreeva and Shnaider enjoyed ice cream. In the interview, Andreeva shared that it would be a great feeling to win a gold medal for our country. The duo said they would leave Paris by winning at least a silver medal.

Mirra Andreeva WTA Titles

Andreeva won her first WTA singles title at the 2024 Lasi Open, where her opponent from Armenia, Elina Avanesyan, got injured. Avanesyan won the first set by 7-5, followed by Andreeva winning the second set. In the final set, she got hurt while playing, giving Andreeva the chance to win her maiden title.
