Former World no.1, Monica Seles is an American retired professional tennis player. She was born in Yugoslavia and started playing tennis at the age of 5. She was coached by her father who is a professional cartoonist and he took care of her two-handed style for both the forehand and backhand. At the age of 14, she played her first professional tournament. She represented both Yugoslavia and the United States of America. In 2014 Monica married multi-billionaire Paychex founder Tom Golisano. Tom is 32 years her senior and the two have been dating since 2009.
Seles has won nine Grand Slam singles titles, eight of which she gained as a teenager representing Yugoslavia. She rocked her junior tennis career and took the pride of becoming the youngest ever French Open champion at the age of 16. In 1991, Seles became even more dominant. She started out by winning the Australian Open in January and defending her French Open title, securing the number 1 world ranking. She was the year-end champion in both 1991 and 1992.
