Brady Tkachuk is a professional ice hockey player, currently serving as the captain of the Ottawa Senators in the NHL. He quickly left his mark on the league after being drafted fourth overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft. In just his second NHL game on October 10, 2018, he scored two goals, surpassing his father and older brother, Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk, for the family's fastest first NHL goal. During his first season, Tkachuk netted 22 goals, ranking second among rookies, and earned a spot on the Atlantic Division team for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game. On March 28, 2019, he made 12 shots on goal, tying a Senators single-game record held by defenseman Jason York since January 30, 1999. Moreover, his 20th goal matched Alexandre Daigle's single-season goal-scoring record by a teenager for the Senators during the 1993-94 season. Tkachuk's remarkable performance led to a seven-year, $57.5 million contract with the Senators on October 14, 2021. He was named the tenth captain in the franchise's history on November 5, 2022.

Born in Scottsdale, Arizona, Tkachuk grew up and played youth hockey in St. Louis after his father's trade to the Blues in 2001. He spent two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and one at Boston University, where he was selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie team and contributed to BU's victory in the Hockey East championship.

Furthermore, Tkachuk served as the captain of the United States team during the 2017 IIHF Under-18 World Championship, helping the U.S. secure a championship title. He also played a role in the team's third-place finish at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Brady Tkachuk Hat Tricks

As of 2023, Brady Tkachuk has recorded only 1 hat trick in his NHL career. He scored his first and only NHL hat trick on December 11, 2021, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. His goals helped the Ottawa Senators win 4-0 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, breaking their winning streak.

Tkachuk's hat trick consisted of two goals scored during a power play in the second period, followed by the third goal as an empty-netter in the final period. Apart from Tkachuk's goals, Josh Norris also scored for the Senators, and Anton Forsberg secured his first career shutout with 24 saves. This win was a major milestone for the Senators in their season.

Tkachuk's hat trick was a significant achievement, as it is a rare feat to score three goals in one game. It also showed that Tkachuk was a star in the making and had the potential to be a great player.

It is also worth mentioning that Tkachuk also has a Gordie Howe Hat trick to his name. When the Ottawa Senators extended Tkachuk's contract for seven years and made him captain last year, they expected his mix of size, skill, and toughness to lift the team. In their recent 3-2 overtime win against the New York Rangers, Tkachuk demonstrated these qualities.

After helping with Tim Stützle's goal, Tkachuk got into a spirited fight with Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, showing both skill and toughness. In the last minute of regulation, with the Senators behind 2-1, Tkachuk completed a Gordie Howe Hat Trick by tipping in a point shot to tie the game. To finish off his outstanding performance, Tkachuk sealed the victory for Ottawa in overtime.
