Connor McDavid is a professional ice hockey centre and captain of the Edmonton Oilers. He was the first overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. McDavid won multiple awards, including the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP and the Ted Lindsay Award several times. He led the league in scoring multiple seasons and set records for points and assists. McDavid signed an eight-year, $100 million contract extension in 2017.

By 2024, he became the fifth-fastest NHL player to reach 900 points and scored his 1,000th NHL point in November 2024. He holds several Edmonton franchise records, including second place in points behind Wayne Gretzky. In the 2024 playoffs, McDavid recorded 42 points and won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP despite his team losing in the finals.
