
Jack Eichel is an American professional ice hockey center and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on October 28, 1996, and began playing ice hockey at a young age, quickly rising through the ranks of youth hockey. In 2012-13, he joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, where he played for two seasons. During his second season with the NTDP, Jack was named to the United States Hockey League Second All-Star Team. After his time with the NTDP, Jack committed to play college hockey at Boston University.
Jack entered the 2015 NHL Draft and was selected second overall by the Buffalo Sabres, one pick after the Edmonton Oilers selected Connor McDavid. In 2021, Jack was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights and won the Stanley Cup with them in 2023. Jack Eichel has also competed for the United States in several international events, such as the World Junior and World Championships. He won bronze and silver medals at the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championships and the 2013 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
