Jack McBain Family

Jack McBain is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, playing for the Utah Hockey Club of the National Hockey League. Born on January 6, 2000, in Toronto, Ontario, McBain played in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. He was drafted 63rd overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Despite initially committing to Boston College for four seasons, McBain later pursued a career with the Arizona Coyotes, who acquired his rights in 2022. He made his NHL debut that year and recorded his first multi-goal game in 2022 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. McBain's strong performance continued, earning him a contract extension with the Coyotes in 2023. He also represented Canada in the 2023 and 2024 IIHF World Championships, winning a gold medal in 2023.

Jack McBain is the son of Andrew McBain and Denise McBain. His father, Andrew, is a former professional ice hockey player who played in the NHL from 1983 to 1996. During his career, Andrew played for several teams, including the Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, and Ottawa Senators. He was drafted 8th overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Andrew's career highlights include recording 32 goals and 63 points with the Jets during the 1987-88 season.

Andrew talked about his son's character in an interview with NHLPA in 2022. He said, “He’s a solid individual. He’s a good kid… we’re really proud of him to follow through on that,” referring to Jack’s education at Boston College.
