John Tavares is a Canadian center who serves as an alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted first overall by the New York Islanders, where he played for nine seasons and served as captain for five seasons, in 2009. Before joining the NHL, Tavares played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Oshawa Generals and later the London Knights.

Tavares gained exceptional status at the age of 14, which allowed him to join the OHL early. He won the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Rookie of the Year in 2006 and CHL Player of the Year in 2007. He set records in the OHL with the most career goals, scoring 215, and finishing sixth in points with 433. Despite efforts to change the NHL draft rules to allow him to join earlier, Tavares entered the NHL in 2009 as one of the top prospects.

John Tavares Diet

John Tavares has considered plant-based eating but prefers a balanced diet with an emphasis on high-quality animal products. He believes eating animal-based foods, depending on the quality and how the animal was raised, plays an important role in his diet. While he has experimented with meals that don't include meat, he feels better when including animal products. He also diversifies his diet with plenty of vegetables, grains, and organic meat when possible. Tavares keeps an open mind on nutrition, with a focus on how his body feels rather than relying solely on scientific data, as per The Athletic.

John Tavares Workout

John Tavares is highly dedicated to his fitness and well-being. He recently explored Kala Therapy, an advanced light therapy system that integrates body and mind. Kala Therapy focuses on reducing joint pain, enhancing weight loss, improving sleep, speeding up muscle recovery, and boosting overall physical performance. The Toronto Maple Leafs player's commitment to fitness helped him achieve a 65-point season (29 goals, 36 assists) in the 2023-24 season, as per The Hockey News.
