Jonathan Toews, often known as "Captain Serious" is a professional ice hockey centre in the National Hockey League (NHL). Currently a free agent, he was born on April 29, 1988 and was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks as the 3rd overall pick during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Toews made his NHL debut during the 2007–08 NHL season, where he earned a nomination for the Calder Memorial Trophy as Rookie of the Year. The following season, Towes was named team captain, becoming the third youngest captain in NHL history at the age of 20 in July 2008. He quickly solidified his status both on and off the ice when he guided the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup victory in 2010. His stellar performance during the playoffs earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the Most Valuable Player.

Following the Stanley Cup, he achieved another milestone, becoming the youngest player to join Triple Gold Club, (Stanley Cup, Olympic gold medal, a World Championship gold medal). Till now Jonathan has been named to the NHL All-Star Game multiple times, six in total, with the most recent one being in 2017.

Jonathan Toews won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks during his second season in the NHL, quickly establishing him as one of the top players in the league.

In 2010, Toews won the first Stanley Cup for the Blackhawks after a 49 year drought. Three years later in 2013, Toews again secured the Stanley Cup for the Chicago Blackhawks, capturing his second cup in four seasons. Toews also won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the best forward of the league.

Toews again proved himself as one of the best leaders in 2015, securing his third Stanley Cup. Due to his leadership and stellar performance during the playoffs, he won the Mark Messier Leadership Award for being the best leader in the league.

Jonathan Towes has secured three Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks (in 2010, 2013, and 2015). In 2010, the Blackhawks defeated Philadelphia in six games to win the Stanley Cup. In 2013 and 2015, they defeated the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning respectively ( all in six games).
