
Miro Heiskanen is a Finnish defenseman serving as an alternate captain for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Heiskanen, born in Espoo, Finland on July 18, 1999, initially played in Finnish team Espoo Blues' youth program. He later began his professional career with Liiga team HIFK in the 2016-17 season, recording 10 points, comprising five goals and five assists, in 37 games.
Heiskanen, who won the Pekka Rautakallio trophy as the best defenseman in the Liiga in 2018, was drafted as the third overall pick by the Stars in the 2017 NHL entry draft.
