
Rod Brind'Amour, who was born on August 9, 1970, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of April 2025. After retiring from playing in 2010, he became the Hurricanes' assistant coach and development coach on June 7, 2011. He was appointed as the Hurricanes' head coach on May 8, 2018.
In his debut season in 2018-19, Brind'Amour led the Carolina Hurricanes to its first Stanley Cup playoffs appearance in 10 years. Brind'Amour achieved the milestone of leading the Hurricanes to the playoffs for three straight seasons on April 26, 2021.
