Rajon Pierre Rondo is an American professional basketball player who plays as a Point Guard for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. Rondo played two years of college basketball for Kentucky before being drafted 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2006 NBA draft. He was subsequently traded to the Celtics, He is a four-time NBA All-Star.
In his Freshman year at Kentucky, Rondo averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He was named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team. He averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game in his sophomore year.
During his rookie season in the NBA, Rondo played a supporting role as he was considered backup to Sebastian Telfair, by mid-season he had become a starter and his minutes and stats improved, He was selected in the NBA All-Rookie second team.
In the 2007-08 season, Rondo became started every game for the Celtics and won his first NBA Championship ring.
On January 28, 2010, He was named as a reserve on the Eastern Conference squad for the All-Star game, He followed it up with consecutive All-Star game appearances for the next 3 years
He was named to the All-NBA third team in 2012.
He later played for the Mavericks, Kings, Bulls, Pelicans before being traded to the Lakers.
