Timothy John McConnell Jr., commonly known as T. J. McConnell, is an American professional basketball player for the NBA franchise Indiana Pacers. Born in 1992 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, McConnell went undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft but later joined his home team as an undrafted rookie, the Philadelphia 76ers, for the NBA Summer League. The point guard attended Chartiers Valley High School in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, and as the team captain during his senior year, McConnell averaged an astonishing 34.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game. McConnell played college basketball for the Duquesne Dukes and the Arizona Wildcats. In his senior year of college for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team, McConnell was voted first-team All-Pac-12 and named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.
