Established in 1959 the Kansas City Chiefs compete in the AFC West Division of the National Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs was originally established as the Dallas Texans and one of the inaugural teams in the American Football League(created to rival the National Football League in 1960). Since the AFL-NFL merger came into effect in 1970, they have appeared in 20 playoffs.



The Chiefs have won 2 Super Bowl titles with their most recent win in 2019. After 1971, the Kansas City Chiefs were absent from the playoffs for a long time. Since 1990, the Chiefs returned to the postseason games. The Chiefs have secured a playoff position in the 2021-22 season by topping the AFC West division table.
