NFL Hall of Famer Walter Payton is one of the greatest players to have ever played for the Chicago Bears and NFL itself. The running back led the Bears to their only Super Bowl victory in 1985. Payton graced Soldier Field (home stadium of the Bears) with his dominating runs and when he retired in 1987 he held the record for most rushing yards and touchdowns.


Payton retired with a total of 632 rushing yards in his playoff career. Walter Payton was part of the NFL 1970s and 1980s All-decade team and his jersey number (34) is retired by the Chicago Bears.
