Anna Kalinskaya is a professional tennis player from Russia. Kalinskaya came to the limelight after her brilliant performance in the 2024 Australian Open, where she made the quarterfinal. She has a career-high ranking of No. 11 in the world, which she achieved in October 28, 2024.

Her best grand slam performance is recorded at the 2024 Australian Open, where she finished quarterfinalist. She registered win over top seed Jasmine Paolini and Sloane Stephens en route. Despite showing versatile performance on the court, she has yet to win any singles title in her career. However, she has won three WTA doubles titles as of January 2025, including the 2022 St. Petersburg Open with Caty McNally. At the onset of the 2025 season, she joined hands with Priscilla Hon and reached the final of the 2024 Brisbane International, where they lost to Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider.

The Russian began playing tennis when she was five years old, and turned pro in 2016. Kalinskaya hits flat groundstrokes, likes to engage in cross-court exchanges, and delivers a consistent serve. After a set of unfortunate injuries over the past few years, she will be looking to make massive strides in 2024.

Patricia Tarabini is a former professional tennis player from Argentina, who is now a coach. She has been ranked as high as No. 29 in the world in the past, and also won the 1996 French Open in mixed doubles. Not to forget her historic bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics in women’s doubles.

As per reports, Kalinskaya and Tarabini have been working together since June 2019. This was Tarabini’s first major coaching experience, and a relatively successful one at that. Kalinskaya was ranked just inside the Top-150 of the WTA during the beginning of their collaboration.

Anna Kalinskaya Career

Anna Kalinskaya turned pro in 2016. She has won three doubles titles so far, but is yet to capture a professional singles trophy. In 2017, Kalinskaya made the switch from the ITF to the WTA Tour, and made her Grand Slam main draw debut at the 2018 Australian Open. Later in the year, Kalinskaya reached the main draw of the US Open, where she lost to Julia Gorges. The year 2019 proved to be rewarding for the Russian, as she made her first WTA semifinal, notched up her first top-10 win and made her debut in the world’s top-100.

After the pandemic and a string of injuries, Kalinskaya began her resurgence in 2022. The now 26-year-old picked up impressive victories throughout the year, which resulted in her attaining a career-high ranking of No. 11 in 2024. However, a dip in form resulted in her dropping out of the top-100 in 2023, before she won her first WTA-125 title.
