Among the top-ranked left-handed tennis players in the world as of 2024, Ugo Humbert is one of the breakout stars of the ATP. The French professional tennis player was born on June 26, 1998, in Metz. Although he is yet to win a Grand Slam, Humbert has racked up six singles titles in his career, including two in 2024. He was only the third man in the Open Era to win the first six trophies out of his six finals and holds a ranking of No. 14 as of late 2024. However, his career-high ranking is No. 13 in the world.

Ugo Humbert began playing tennis at age five after watching his father and turned pro in 2016. A powerful southpaw who enjoys flat, offensive rallies, the 26-year-old’s best outing at a major is reaching the Round of 16 at Wimbledon 2019 and 2024. As of late 2024, he has won over $7.5 million in prize money and has a net worth of $5-6 million on the circuit. Jeremy Chardy is the coach of French star Ugo Humbert. He is a French tennis coach and former professional tennis player.

As a player, Jeremy Chardy won one singles title and seven doubles titles. His career-best Grand Slam performance was reaching the quarterfinals of the 2013 Australian Open. A former top-25 player, Chardy began coaching Ugo Humbert in 2022 when he was out of action. The pair has won three titles together since and has tasted sustained success.

A year after starting his coaching stint with Ugo Humbert, Jeremy Chardy retired from professional tennis as a player.

Ugo Humbert's Coaching History

Having left his home at the age of 12 to train, Ugo Humbert was coached by Cedric Raynaud for a long period. The Frenchman has credited Raynaud for being an important influence in his life. Between 2020 and 2022, Humbert was mentored by Nicolas Copin - a chief coach at the Allin Tennis Academy. During this stint, there were also reports that the southpaw was coached by former top-100 player Thierry Ascione.

In July 2022, Ugo Humbert joined forces with Jeremy Chardy (his current coach). Chardy was still an active player at the time but hadn’t featured in tournaments due to Covid-19 complications. Additionally, Humbert’s girlfriend Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, a tennis player, briefly coached him in 2024. She was also a part of his coaching setup during his victory at the 2024 Open 13 Provence in Marseille.

Apart from his coaches, Ugo Humbert has Frenchman Laurent Tort as his physiotherapist on tour. They have been working together for an extensive period. Subsequently, Humbert was previously associated with Holger Rune’s physiotherapist Lapo Becherini.
