
Brent Burns is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman playing for the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL. He was drafted 20th overall by the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the 2003 NHL Draft. Burns made his NHL debut on October 8, 2003, against the Chicago Blackhawks and scored his first goal in his third game against the San Jose Sharks.
Burns played for the Minnesota Wild until he was traded to the San Jose Sharks on June 24, 2011.
