Craig Smith currently plays as a forward for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL) and began hsi career after getting selected by the Nashville Predators as the 98th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Level Draft. Prior to that, he played hockey for his High School team, the Robert M. LA Follette Boys Varsity Hockey team before starting his major junior hockey career with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL. During the 2013-14 season, Smith led the Predators with 24 goals and recorded his first four-point game on April 13, 2014. Smith achieved an NHL career-high 25 goals in the 2017-18 season and recorded his fifth 20-goal season in 2018-19. He reached his 400th NHL point with an assist in the Boston Bruins' 4-3 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild on October 22, 2022, and played his 800th NHL game on November 23, 2022. Lastly, he joined his present team, the Dallas Stars on July 1, 2023, after signing a year-long, $1 million contract with them.
