Evgeni Vladimirovich Malkin is a Russian ice hockey center currently serving as an alternate captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League. He is also known as “Geno”. Malkin started skating at the age of three and developed an interest in ice hockey. Malkin initially started his hockey career in his hometown Magnitogorsk, Russia with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, participating in both junior and senior teams and debuted in the Russian Superleague when he was 17 during the 2003-2004.
