Jason Robertson is an American professional ice hockey left winger who plays for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League. He was selected 39th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Robertson made his NHL debut in 2020 after successfully finishing the 2019-2020 season with the Texas Stars in the AHL.

Robertson stood out during the 2020-2021 season, earning the Rookie of the Month title in April for his score of 8 goals and 18 points. The Dallas Stars missed the playoffs, but Robertson earned a place in the NHL All-Rookie Team and was runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy. Due to his stellar performances, he earned a spot in the 2023 NHL All-Star Game.

Jason Robertson is half Filipino and half Scottish; his mother's roots are in Manila, and his father is of Scottish ancestry, as per The Dallas Morning News. His maternal grandparents migrated to the US when Robertson's mother, Mercedes, was just three years old. This adds a cultural dimension to his family background. He is the second Filipino American player in the NHL after Tim Stapleton.

Robertson has a younger brother, Nicholas Robertson, born on September 11, 2001, who also plays in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nicholas was drafted in the 53rd round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Maple Leafs and debuted in the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Jason was born on July 22, 1999, in Arcadia, California, to parents Mercedes and Hugh Robertson. Growing up, Jason developed an interest in hockey from his parents. His parents used to watch ice hockey with their children and held season tickets to watch the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center. Jason was five when he started playing hockey. His family relocated to Northville, Michigan, to provide him with better opportunities for ice skating, as per The Dallas Morning News.

In Northville, he played with multiple teams, including Little Caesars, the Detroit Kings AAA team, and Don Mills Flyers of the Greater Toronto Hockey League. He showcased his talent during his amateur career.

Robertson also played in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs and participated in the 2019 OHL Cup, where his team finished second after the Toronto Marlboros. Later, he was traded to the Niagara IceDogs, where he won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy and the CHL Top Scorer Award.

Jason Robertson was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft but played the 2019-2020 season with the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate team, the Texas Stars. He was called for the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs in the NHL, but he did not play instead, he appeared in Dallas's opening night roster. He was the runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy as the best rookie for his impressive stats.

In the 2021-2022 NHL season, Robertson created history with his impressive consecutive hat tricks, scoring three goals back-to-back in two games. With this feat, he became the first player in the Dallas Stars under 23 to achieve this milestone and the first NHL player after Alexander Ovechkin in January 2020.

Robertson skipped training camp and some games of the preseason, yet he secured a four-year contract with the Dallas Stars, but couldn't secure a place in the opening roster game for the 2023-2024 season. Robertson secured a spot in the NHL All-Star Game in January 2023 first time in his career, representing the Dallas Stars. His teammates have named him "Robo."

Jason Robertson has also represented the USA in the Ice Hockey World Championship in 2021 and the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2019.
