Kris Knoblauch is the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers, a team competing in the National Hockey League (NHL). He became the Oilers' 18th head coach in history on November 13, 2023. Before joining the Oilers, he coached the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League (AHL) from 2019 to 2023. He led the Wolf Pack to the third round of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs and finished with a 119-90-32 record, according to the Oilers' website.

Before his time with the Edmonton Oilers and Hartford Wolf Pack, Knoblauch served as Philadelphia Flyers' assistant coach from 2017 to 2019. He also coached the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), leading them to four straight 50-win seasons and a league title in 2017. He won the 2015-16 OHL Coach of the Year award. Earlier, he won a Western Hockey League (WHL) championship with the Kootenay Ice in 2011, as per the aforementioned website.
