Macklin Celebrini, born on June 13, 2006, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, is a Canadian professional ice hockey center currently playing for the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. Celebrini’s early career began with minor hockey in Vancouver. His family later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and he played for Shattuck-Saint Mary’s, where he excelled, scoring 50 goals and 67 assists in 52 games. Moving up to the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Chicago Steel in 2022-23, he led the league with 86 points, becoming the second player to win USHL Player, Rookie, and Forward of the Year honors in one season.

Celebrini committed to Boston University, where he made history by winning the Hobey Baker Award as the youngest player and the fourth freshman ever. Drafted first overall by the Sharks in 2024, he debuted on October 10, 2024.

In the USHL, he earned Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Forward of the Year for the 2022–23 season. He was also named to the All-USHL First Team and the All-Rookie First Team for his impressive performance.

Celebrini continued to excel during his college hockey season at Boston University. He was selected for the All-Hockey East First Team and the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. He was also the Hockey East Scoring Champion, won the Hockey East Three-Stars Award, and was named Hockey East Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year. Additionally, he received the Tim Taylor Award and the Hobey Baker Award, becoming the youngest recipient of the latter. Celebrini was further honored with selection to the AHCA East First Team All-American.
