The Nashville Predators are a professional ice hockey team based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1997 as an NHL expansion team, they began playing in the 1998–99 season. The team competes in the NHL's Western Conference as part of the Central Division, with Bridgestone Arena as their home rink since its establishment. The team made their first playoff appearance in the 2003–04 season and reached their first Stanley Cup Final in 2017, although they fell short against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In 2018, the Predators captured their first Presidents' Trophy and Central Division title. Their minor league affiliates are the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL), while Bally Sports South and WPRT-FM serve as their broadcast partners.

Andrew Brunette, born on August 24, 1973, is serving as a head coach of the Nashville Predators. He is a former NHL player. Throughout his extensive career as a player, he appeared in over 1,100 NHL games with teams like the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, Atlanta Thrashers, Minnesota Wild, Colorado Avalanche, and Chicago Blackhawks. Brunette maintained an impressive streak, playing in 509 consecutive games from 2002 to 2009, despite an ACL tear that he played through in the 2008–09 season.

Brunette’s coaching career began after his retirement in 2013. He initially started as a hockey operations advisor for the Minnesota Wild. He progressed through roles as an assistant and interim head coach, including a memorable interim head coaching stint with the Florida Panthers. His multiple roles led him to Nashville, where he has led the team since May 31, 2023.

The Nashville Predators have had five head coaches since joining the NHL in 1998. Barry Trotz, the team’s first coach, served from their debut season through 2014. After Trotz, Peter Laviolette coached from 2014 to 2020, leading the team to the Stanley Cup Final in 2017. John Hynes then held the position from 2020 to 2023.
