
Paul Maurice is the head coach of the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He coached the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes from 1995 to 2003 and then the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2006 to 2008. He later coached the Winnipeg Jets from 2014 to 2021 before joining the Panthers in June 2022.
Maurice became the youngest coach in NHL history to reach 1,000 games at the age of 43 and holds the record for most coaching losses with 736. He led the Carolina Hurricanes to the 2002 Stanley Cup Final and 2009 Eastern Conference Final. He also guided the Winnipeg Jets to the 2018 Western Conference Final. He coached the Florida Panthers to the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals and helped the team win their maiden Stanley Cup championship in 2024.
