Trent Frederic is an American ice hockey professional player for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Frederic was selected by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft as the 29th overall pick. Before the Bruins, he represented the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten Conference. As of May 2025, the St. Louis, Missouri native has earned top honors such as the Big Ten Men's Ice Hockey Freshman of the Year, All-Big Ten Freshman Team honors, and the Spike Carlson–Chris Chelios Award for being the Badgers' most valuable player in 2017.

In the NHL, Frederic made his debut against the Winnipeg Jets on January 29, 2019, skating alongside his childhood hero David Backes. However, after 11 scoreless games, he was sent back to the Providence Bruins of the NHL. The subsequent years saw him switch between the teams, and the 2021-22 season saw him become a regular part of the Boston Bruins' roster. In 2024, Frederic earned the Seventh Player Award for his contributions throughout the season.
