What's the story?

WWE is currently looking to book Roman Reigns to main-event next year's WrestleMania for the fifth time in a row. Recently a rumor has been doing the rounds, Reigns is likely to defend his universal title against Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson himself.

In case you didn't know...

Roman Reigns became the Universal Champion by defeating reigning champion Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018. Since then he has got over the crowd to some extent.

Also, Reigns next title defense is scheduled at Hell in a Cell 2018 pay-per-view where he will be facing Braun Strowman. This week on Raw Strowman announced that he is cashing in his MITB contract in advance and he'll face Roman next month in September.

The heart of the matter

According to Joe Peisich of the Barn Burner podcast, WWE currently has a big match planned for Roman to get him over the crowd. The initial plan is to let Roman face his cousin The Rock at WrestleMania 35 putting up his Universal Championship on the line.

Though this match may progress in coming months, this all could be scraped away after seeing The Rock's hectic movie schedule. Seeing he can't afford to get injured like last time at WrestleMania 28 leading to his Hercules movie production being stopped, losing a great amount of money in the process.

What's next?

Thus far, I don't know how WWE will set up a match between two superstars but a possible way for this to happen is making The Rock win next year's Royal Rumble. Also, he is heavily rumored to win it. But if this match is going to happen, expect Reigns to win as this step might help get him over the crowd.

What do you think about this rumored match should it happen or not? Tell us how you will react if The Rock loses to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35.
