Davis Bertrans: A Brief Biography

Davis Bertrans is a Latvian professional basketball who plays for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. He can play as a Power forward / Center. He was drafted with the 42nd pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers and was traded to the San Antonio Spurs along with Kawhi Leonard for George Hill. His elder brother, Dairis, plays professional basketball for the Italian team Olimpia Milano.


He started his career with ASK Kadeti II in Latvia in 2007. In 2010, Bertans signed with Slovenian team Union Olimpija. In 2013, he tore ACL of his right knee while playing Serbian League finals for Partizan Belgrade, which made him sit out for 9 months. In 2014, he signed for Spanish team Laboral Kutxa Baskonia before winning the Serbian league thrice. His old injury recurred again in 2015


On 14 July 2016, Bertans signed with the San Antonio Spurs. He made his debut for the Spurs in their season opener against the Golden State Warriors 25 October 2016. On 8 January 2018, he scored a career-high 28 points against the Sacramento Kings.

On 11 July 2018, he re-signed with the Spurs.
