Tristen Jamal Newton, born on April 26, 2001, is an American basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League as of May 2025. Newton initially played college basketball for the East Carolina Pirates basketball team. He earned a spot on the All-American Athletic Conference second team. He later joined the UConn Huskies in the Big East Conference from 2022 to 2024. He averaged 16.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game in the Big East Conference. Before joining college, Newton attended Burges High School in El Paso, Texas and averaged 37.2 points per game during his senior season, as per his college roster.

Newton was drafted as the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. He later signed a two-way contract with the Pacers, splitting his time between the Indiana Pacers and their affiliate G League team. After getting waived by the Pacers, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 3, 2025, in a two-way contract. As of May 18, 2025, he has appeared in eight NBA regular-season games while averaging two minutes per game.
