
Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin is an ice hockey left winger who is playing for the Washington Capitals in the NHL, as of May 2025. He started his pro career with Dynamo Moscow in 2001 and played there for four seasons. He was selected first overall by the Capitals in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
