Auston Matthews is an ice hockey center and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs as of May 2025. He played for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and ZSC Lions in SWL before being drafted.

Matthews made NHL history with four goals in his debut and won the Calder Memorial Trophy in his rookie season. He claimed the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy in 2020–21 and set records for most goals (60 goals) in a season by an American-born player and a Maple Leafs player in 2021–22. He secured both the Rocket Richard Trophy and the Hart Trophy. Matthews has earned six All-Star honors throughout his career.
